Please do not hesitate to come to Japan to study. There are always new things to learn here.

The reason I chose to study in Japan was because of the freedom in the study of literature, and because I thought that the discipline was dense with multifaceted and innovative deciphering going on. Located in the convenient area of Takadanobaba, ISI offers a great educational environment and attracts students from all over the world.
I enrolled in Takadanobaba School in October 2019, and after three months (after the first semester), I had the strong desire to challenge myself and took the exam to enter the Top University Preparation Class. In the Top University Preparation Class, I met teachers who are good at teaching and friends who I am still close to today, which is one of the things I am glad I enrolled in.

Since there are not many girls’ schools in China, I have always had a strong interest in women’s universities. When I read on the website of Ochanomizu University, “Our philosophy is to cultivate the foresight to anticipate the times and a strong sense of independence,” I strongly sympathized. Becoming a woman with independent thinking and research skills was also my own goal, so I decided to challenge Ochanomizu University. I am currently enrolled in the Asian Languages and Cultures course in the Department of Comparative Studies in Society and Culture, and hope to do research and cross-translation of Chinese and Japanese literary works in the future.

When I look back on my examinations, I think, “Even a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”. At first, I couldn’t start writing my research proposal even after looking for many references and materials. However, “the power of action” is really important. And in order to write the first word, you need to be “determined”. Then the day will surely come when you will be able to finish the whole text.

One of the things I made an effort to do was to listen carefully to the way my teacher and other excellent classmates said things and pronounced them, memorize them well, and consciously practice actually using them in my own daily conversation. By doing so, I was able to express my thoughts clearly without getting nervous.

Everyone, please do not hesitate to study in Japan. There are always new things to learn here.
For international students whose native language is not Japanese, there is always something we can learn from native speakers. This is because it includes not only the grammar in the books, but also the daily conversational expressions of the teachers and the output of Japanese culture. In order to blend in with Japan, the first step is to learn Japanese. Eventually, you will need language skills, so I think it would be a good idea to solidify this foundation first.
