At all levels, our goal is to develop “the ability to communicate about oneself and express one’s own thoughts” and “Japanese language skills to communicate and talk to each other about a theme”. The curriculum is designed so that students can experience not only “understanding Japanese,” but also “the joy of using Japanese” and “a sense of accomplishment when understanding each other”.
Beginner Level | The goal of this course is to help students understand familiar topics in daily life and to be able to comprehend instructions and explanations. In class, students will use words and expressions they are familiar with to understand the topic of the day, and then practice using Japanese in their own situations. By “listening and speaking,” “seeing and speaking,” and “thinking and speaking,” students will experience the joy of communicating in Japanese. |
Intermediate Level | In addition to understanding the Japanese language used in everyday situations, the course will also cover more social and cultural topics such as travel, disaster prevention, environmental issues, and science. In class, students will deepen their understanding of Japan and experience the joy of using Japanese through role-playing, speeches, posters, news, and a variety of other Japanese language materials. |
