Why did you choose to study in Japan?
I came to Japan to study Japanese in earnest so that the Japanese I have studied as a hobby since high school would not go to waste.
What do you think is the best thing about enrolling at ISI?
The school offers events and activities to enjoy Japanese culture. I felt that this had the effect of helping me to quickly become accustomed to Japanese society as a foreigner.
Do you have any memorable lessons or memories of your teachers?
I was strongly impressed by the Kanji lessons. Both Japan and China are countries that use Chinese characters, but there are many Chinese characters that have similar shapes but different meanings. Therefore, the class where we learned Japanese kanji was very helpful for Chinese students like me.
What is the most memorable event in your school life?
On the day of the conversation test, my homeroom teacher, Ms. Iwasaki was surprised at my conversational ability, as I do not usually speak much. I was very happy because my favorite teacher praised me. I thought it would be better if I interacted with more people and talked with everyone.
What did you find useful in ISI's guidance and support for your exam?
I practiced Kanji characters many times at school, so I no longer make writing mistakes.
Why did you choose the school you were applying to? What made you choose it?
I wanted to continue studying the paleobotany I had studied at university, but few graduate courses offer a major in paleobotany. Osaka City University has a wonderful botanical garden in this regard, which allows me to study both modern and fossil plants.
Looking back on your exams, what were the hardest and best parts?
The school gave me a variety of information about the examinations. And I was also helped by the support of teacher Onishi
With such support, I knew I had to win and overcome my timidity and weakness also try hard working on it.
What are your goals and dreams for the future?
I want to work hard until I get my PhD at university. After graduation, I want to become a researcher of Japanese paleontology.
What would you tell to those who want to study in ISI?
I envy all of you who get to enjoy ISI's facilities, library and café, which I was not able to use during the Corona. ^^
If any of you are interested in plant research, please come to Osaka City University.
