[Kyoto Campus] Completion of ISO 29991 Periodic Audit

On March the 1st, our Kyoto Campus (ISI Language School, Kyoto), underwent a renewal of our review by the international standard for language learning services, ISO29991. (Certification body: JAMOTE Certification Services Co., Ltd.)

ISO29991 is a set of requirements specifically for language learning service providers, and aims to improve the quality of language learning services and improve customer satisfaction accordingly. A regular audit is conducted every year, and a renewal audit is conducted once every three years.

At the Kyoto Campus, an on-site examination was held for two days, February the 1st and 2nd, 2024.
As a result of the review, there were no requests for improvement, non-conformities, or negative observations in all audit items. We also received comments about our efforts to further improve quality and evaluations of the three strong points of our Kyoto campus.

3 Strong Points of the Kyoto Campus

POINT
1

Crisis management manual and emergency response

Our school has a crisis management manual in place that informs students what to do in the event of an emergency. We are proactively working to ensure safety at the school by hosting drills, including holding annual evacuation drills and making sure that students are aware of the escape routes from the start of their school life. This initiative was praised as an initiative that brings peace of mind to students who have little experience with earthquakes.

POINT
2

Analyzing performance data to improve the quality of education

We are working to gather and compare student performance data by school within the ISI group. Our schools are working hard together to utilize this data from all angles. Our efforts to improve our language services and develop our teaching methods have been recognised and highlighted as a strength.

POINT
3

Providing information in multiple languages

We have made various materials such as application guidelines, school brochures, and websites available in multiple languages so that students and parents can check them before enrolling. The website, which is available in 13 languages, was praised for its careful use of language tailored to users to avoid misunderstandings, as well as for being updated frequently and providing the latest information.

General comments from certification bodies

The ISI Group's efforts in language education demonstrate its high educational capabilities, and I feel that the organization as a whole is a solid educational institution. In particular, the new syllabus for beginners is notable for promoting independent learning by designing a syllabus that incorporates ID methods and introduces an LMS system.
In addition, it should be noted that the team is actively promoting internal auditing within the group of schools and is working to optimise and standardise self-assessment. The team is committed to improving the quality of education and has reduced its self-assessment from ‘excellent’ to ‘achieved’ on items that still need improvement, which shows a high degree of commitment towards improving.
Going forward, as the coronavirus pandemic subsides and student numbers increase rapidly, we hope that the teaching staff will be strengthened and the school will continue to grow. We look forward to continuing to improve the quality of language learning services provided by your school.

We will continue to maintain and improve the quality of our education, improve our ability to provide high quality services and provide an educational product that satisfies our customers.
