[Tokyo-Harajuku Campus] Completion of ISO 29991 Periodic Audit

On March the 1st, ISI Harajuku Campus (ISI Career and Language Academy, Harajuku) received ISO29991 certification, the international standard for language learning services. (Certification body: JAMOTE Certification Services Co., Ltd.)

“ISO29991” is a set of requirements specifically for language learning service providers, and aims to improve the quality of language learning services and improve customer satisfaction accordingly. A regular audit is conducted every year, and a renewal audit is conducted once every three years. This is the fourth school in the ISI Group to receive this certification, following Takadanobaba, Kyoto, and Ikebukuro Campus.

At the Harajuku Campus, an on-site examination was held for two days, January the 30th and 31st, 2024.
As a result of the review, there were no requests for improvement, non-conformities, or observations in all audit items, and we received comments on efforts to further improve quality and evaluations of the four strong points.

Providing information about our school and services

Sufficient information necessary for students is provided on the website, in pamphlets, “Student Life Start Book”, etc. We were also praised for providing this information in multiple languages. As well as being easy to read, easy to understand, and realistic.

Regular reviews of our curriculum and learning materials

Our campus has established a curriculum review system where we regularly look at, analyse, and if neccessary, make changes to the curriculum and learning materials. This initiative was highly evaluated, and the fact that records were kept was also highly praised.

Selection of teaching materials to improve learning

We place great emphasis on selecting learning materials that match the course’s objectives. The school’s policy of selecting teaching materials from commercially available materials and combining them with original teaching materials, as well as its efforts to manage progress through monthly meetings (curriculum planning meetings), were highly appreciated.

Preparation for emergency situations

We were also praised for our thorough preparation for emergencies. Our school works towards ensuring the safety of our students and staff by creating instruction manuals for emergency situations, conducting evacuation drills and safety checks, preparing evacuation routes and stockpilling emergency supplies.

We will continue to maintain and improve the quality of our education, continually improve our ability to provide high quality services, and strive to provide an educational product that satisfies our customers.
