UPDATE
The success stories are full of advice for those who are considering higher education in Japan.
ISI’s strength is our ability to provide guidance that thoroughly attends to each student and leads them to success at the university or graduate school of their first choice. Our homeroom teachers and the Career Center at ISI headquarters work together to determine together what is necessary to achieve your goals and provide support to enhance your ability to pass the entrance examinations efficiently and effectively.
Graduate school pass: 124, University pass: 198, Vocational school pass: 95 (Current as of March 9, 2023)
One-on-one career interviews are held regularly at the school. At the interviews, I expressed my thoughts and concerns about my career path and schools of choice to my teachers.
The teacher listened carefully to what I had to say and explained in detail what I needed to do to improve my Japanese and prepare for the entrance examination. Looking back, I think that all my activities for the entrance examination started with this career path interview.
I have been preparing since I was in China to enter a Japanese university. Since I could not come to Japan immediately due to the Corona, I first took online classes and researched on the Internet about the entrance examination to the extent that I could. After arriving in Japan, I took the information I had researched so far and worked with a teacher at the Takadanobaba Campus to come up with a plan to prepare for the exam.
I believe that I was able to smoothly pass the entrance exam to the university of my choice because of the professional advice from the school and the preparation for the examinations I had researched on my own so far, together.
I am honestly aware that I am not someone who is that good at taking exams. The teachers at Takadanobaba Campus have really helped me since I came to Japan. The school provided me with various supports and systems to enter graduate school, and I studied under their supervision.
I was not very good at interviews, so in order to overcome this, I devoted twice as much time as other people to interview preparation and practice. Thanks to that, I was able to fully present myself in front of my professors at the graduate school interview, and I think that led to my success.
The most worrisome part of my examination activities was that I felt I had very little time to think about the exam questions due to their high difficulty level. Also, interviews are very important, so I repeatedly practiced interviewing at school.
In terms of ISI’s guidance and support, I found the interview practice to be the most useful. The practice was in the same format as in practice, so I was able to prepare well.
I think Kyoto Campus is a good school in many aspects for students. I am very happy to have been able to study here.
When I first enrolled in the program, I was not very confident that I would be able to enter the graduate school of my choice considering my home university, my age, and my Japanese grades. Thanks to the kind counsel of my homeroom teacher and classmates, I think I was able to overcome the most difficult period of my life.
If you want to go on to higher education in Japan, the learning environment and atmosphere are important. At Takadanobaba School, I made friends with classmates who had the same goal of going on to higher education, and we were able to study while engaging in friendly competition. I feel that the environment has an influence on people. I believe that a good environment will lead to good results.
I decided to study at ISI’s Kyoto Campus because I have always loved Kyoto and the university I am aiming for is also located in Kyoto. The teachers at ISI Kyoto have a strong sense of responsibility for each student, and as students, we can feel their enthusiasm. My teacher understood that I had concerns about my portfolio and was always there for me and guided me through the process. The students enrolled are also great. I also enjoy participating in the holidays and other events held at the school.
In the future, I want to be a designer, and I want to be a people-oriented designer.
