【October/November】Report on activities to support students in their academic pursuits and job-hunting activities

ISI is committed to supporting students’ career paths and holds a variety of monthly events for higher education and employment.
Some of the events held in October and November are listed below.

Job Interview Practice Session

On Thursday, October 20, students at the Takadanobaba Campus practiced interviewing in a manner similar to actual job interviews tests. The participating students eagerly participated in the interview practice with a sense of tension, trying to learn how to handle interviews and Japanese business manners in order to get a job at the company of their choice.

Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University Mock Class + Information Session

On Thursday, November 10, Professor ALCANTRA LaiLani L, Dean of the College of International Management at Ritsumeikan Asia Pacific University, gave a mock class on diversity in global business management at Zoom.
In the class, students were able to listen to a wide range of topics such as women’s activities and the global economy, and after the class, students were able to receive admission counseling, making it a very meaningful time.

On Friday, October 21, Toho Gakuen visited Ikebukuro Campus and conducted an optional event to explain the school and experience classes.
The students who participated in the event tried their best to take good pictures with their cell phones. The students were also introduced to a video produced by Toho Gakuen students, and the message of the video really resonated with them.

When you are looking for a job in Japan, you are required to submit a “resume” and a ” Curriculum Vitae (CV)”. The ” Curriculum Vitae” is only to be submitted by those who have worked in Japan before, but it is a very important document. This time, we held a special course on how to write a resume in Japanese, in an easy-to-understand manner, and how to appeal your experience and skills.
At Harajuku Campus, our Japanese language instructors, who are certified career consultants, provide this kind of employment-related support outside of the classroom as well.

We will continue to keep you posted on the activities that ISI offers to support your higher education and job search, so please check back in the next issue.
