Report of Successful Admissions to Japanese Universities and Graduate Schools

Stories of students who have made their dreams come true

Every year, many students from ISI Japanese Language School Group go on to the schools of their choice, and this year again, we have received a steady stream of happy feedback from our students. Here are some stories of students who have been accepted into prestigious universities and graduate schools in Japan and have gone on to make their dreams come true.

The strength of ISI is its ability to thoroughly attend to each student and guide them to success in their first-choice university or graduate school. Our homeroom teachers and the Career Center at ISI headquarters work together to determine together what is necessary to achieve their goals, and provide support to enhance your ability to pass the entrance examinations efficiently and effectively.

The University of Tokyo, Faculty of Engineering
Chen Kashiyuan(Takadanobaba Campus)

I was able to study efficiently with the guidance of the teachers and the excellent facilities.

I studied at Takadanobaba Campus for two years. The teachers were very patient with me in class. The facilities are spacious and well-equipped, so I was able to use many on-campus facilities for self-study and study very efficiently. I am currently enrolled in the General Studies Department at the University of Tokyo, but in my junior year I will be assigned to the Engineering Department to study specialized knowledge. I am interested in environmental issues, so in the future I would like to research plastics that have the least environmental impact.

Waseda University, Faculty of Commerce
Tang Manqing(Takadanobaba Campus)

ISI’s information and guidance on higher education is perfect. I was able to prepare without worry.

I wanted to go to college in Japan, so I studied in the Advanced Placement class at Takadanobaba Campus, and I think ISI’s information and guidance regarding higher education is perfect. The teachers are very knowledgeable about entrance exam preparation and provide step-by-step guidance, allowing students to prepare without worry. In the future, I would like to promote equal opportunities for women through data analysis and work toward a society without disparities.

Ryukoku University, Faculty of International Studies
Yang Yuxuan (Kyoto Campus)

Thanks to the guidance of my homeroom teacher, I gained confidence.

I cannot talk about my exam experience without my homeroom teacher, Ms. Negishi. My teacher helped me gather detailed information about universities, including admission requirements (entrance exam guidelines) for schools that I had not passed and challenge schools, and gave me guidance on revising my statement of purpose many times, which helped me gain confidence. In the future I would like to work in an international school. Study in Japan, and work in relationship between Japan and China.

Kyoto University, Graduate School of Intelligence
Wang Tianchen(Takadanobaba Campus)

The environment where I could engage in friendly competition with my classmates helped me grow.

I had been reviewing graduate school application guidelines since my first year of classes, so I was able to prepare what I needed for the application process early on. At school, I solved past graduate school entrance examinations with other students who were pursuing the same field of study, and I am glad that we were able to study together and stimulate each other’s growth. In graduate school, I plan to conduct research on natural language processing.

Kyoto University, Graduate School of Intelligence
Tong Xiaoqing(Kyoto Campus)

The program is designed to provide a good balance of classes, homework, and extracurricular activities.

The teachers at Kyoto Campus were always concerned about my exams and my health. The school is well designed with a good balance of classes, homework, and extracurricular activities. I really like the sensitive and free research atmosphere of Japan. There are many seminars and professors are interested in your thesis progress. Japanese researchers are attractive because they are not dependent on achieving a quota for the number of papers and can devote their energy to the research they like. In the future, I would like to work in a job related to informatics.

Kyoto University, Graduate School of Intelligence
Ma Chuang(Kyoto Campus)

The teachers were kind and I always consulted them when I had problems.

The Kyoto campus is very beautiful and the teachers are kind and I always consulted with them when I had problems. The reason why I decided to pursue higher education in Japan is because AI research has cross-disciplinary aspects, such as brain science and robotics research, and cross-disciplinary research is being conducted in Japan. I believe that academic exchange is very active and the educational system is well established. In the future, I would like to become a professor or a researcher at a university.

Waseda University, Graduate School of Environment and Energy
Wang Zijie(Takadanobaba Campus)

Excellent teachers & thorough corona measures. I was able to concentrate on my studies with peace of mind.

ISI had many excellent teachers and the school’s corona measures were well maintained, so I was able to focus on my studies with peace of mind. In order to improve my composition skills, teacher Takahashi corrected my journal entries daily, and I am very grateful to teacher Onishi for his advice before my graduate school examinations.

Osaka University, Graduate School of Multimedia Engineering
Tang Jie(Takadanobaba Campus)

Thanks to the convincing research plan, the exam went smoothly.

The ISI teacher checked the Japanese of my research proposal and rewrote it many times. Being able to write it down convincingly and properly made it much easier to explain my research when I met with my professor. In graduate school, I would like to research systems that can recognize faces. I believe that if this technology can be applied, robots will be able to further replace human work.

Nagoya University, Graduate School of Intelligence
Qin Yupeng(Takadanobaba Campus)

In addition to preparing for the exam, I also learned courtesy, which was very helpful.

I decided to enroll in Takadanobaba Campus because I heard that the school has excellent facilities and that the teachers have a good reputation. ISI’s guidance helped me a lot in my entrance exam, especially in the repeated practice of interviewing and also in teaching me about courtesy. In the future, I would like to go to an American university if I have the chance. After that, I would like to return to Japan again and find a job in Japan.

Hitotsubashi University, Graduate School of Economics
Zhou Yixin(Takadanobaba Campus)

I overcame the exam with the support of my classmates

My homeroom teacher, Mr.Katahira’s classes are very easy to understand. He explained in detail the Japanese and Chinese kanji characters, which are the same but have different meanings. When I was taking exams, I worked hard with my friends and we supported each other by asking each other about words we didn’t understand. I think that by explaining things to others by breaking it down in my mind, it led to further understanding. In the future, after gaining experience at a securities company, I would like to create my own securities company.

Kyushu University, Graduate School of Information Science
Yao Chengzuo(Takadanobaba Campus)

I made my own rigorous study plan and took the exam.

I had always hoped to be admitted to a national university in Japan. The hardest part of the entrance examination was that I had to make and work on my own rigorous study plan because there were differences between the subjects on the exam and what I had to study for my undergraduate degree. My past homeroom teachers have all been very responsible and have given me a lot of support. When I reported to them that I had been accepted to graduate school, they congratulated me very much.

Ochanomizu Women’s University, Graduate School of Human Culture
Xie Jing (Takadanobaba Campus)

Meeting teachers and students from all over the world has been an asset to me.

The Takadanobaba Campus offers a convenient and educational environment, and students from all over the world are enrolled. In the special education classes, I met teachers who were very good at teaching and friends with whom I am still close, which is one of my assets because I am glad I enrolled in the school. I have always had a strong interest in women’s universities because there are not many women’s schools in China. I also sympathized with the philosophy of Ochanomizu University, so I decided to go on to higher education. In the future, I would like to translate and research Chinese and Japanese literary works.

Kansai University, Graduate School of Arts and Letters
Yin Mengqian(Kyoto Campus)

The multinationalism and the high percentage of students going on to higher education were deciding factors in my choice of school.

I like Kyoto’s relaxed pace of time. I chose Kyoto Campus because of its multinationalism and high percentage of students going on to higher education! The hardest thing I had to do when preparing for the exam was to understand the terminology because my graduate major was different from my undergraduate major, and I didn’t understand the terminology. My homeroom teacher and academic advisor always consulted with me and gave me guidance many times. In the future, I would like to graduate from a master’s program and become a Japanese language teacher in my home country.

Osaka City University, Graduate School of Science
Jiang Songyao(Takadanobaba Campus)

Thanks to the teachers, I was able to overcome my weak feelings and hang in there until the end!

The school gave me a lot of information about the entrance examinations, and my teacher, Mr. Onishi’s support helped me a lot. With such support, I was able to overcome my weak feelings and work hard until the end without being half-hearted. Osaka City University has a wonderful botanical garden and offers the opportunity to study both modern and fossil plants, so I hope to continue my research from my undergraduate days. In the future, I would like to get a PhD and become a paleontologist in Japan.

Saitama University Graduate School of Mathematics
He Keran(Takadanobaba Campus

The teachers are very approachable and provide a variety of support inside and outside of the classroom.

My homeroom teacher was very close to the students and provided a variety of support both inside and outside of class. He also consulted with us on our research plans and practiced mock interviews with us. I believe that Japan’s semiconductor research is the most advanced in the world, so I would like to continue to study hard and develop semiconductor research in my home country.
