A group of 24 students from an Indonesian school visited us in Japan

24 students and teachers from SMP Progresif Bumi Shalawat Islamic Boarding School in Indonesia visited us in Japan.

They participated in Japanese language classes and activities to experience Japanese culture at ISI Takadanobaba School as a group for a week from May 22 (Mon.) to May 26 (Fri.) last year.

Since these students are also studying Japanese in Indonesia, it was very impressive to see them actively engage in speech, and the class was very lively. It was very encouraging to see their confidence growing with each passing day.

In the activities to experience Japanese culture, students tried folding origami and calligraphy.

While folding origami, the students listened intently to the teacher’s explanations and managed to make magnificent colorful helmets and cranes. When the wings of the cranes were unfolded, the students cheered and their smiles shone brightly.

The calligraphy experience started with some confusion over how to handle the brushes, but the students soon got the hang of it and produced some very beautiful works. The participants showed their works to each other, and it was a very exciting time.

It was a fast-paced week, but the entire ISI staff were energized to see the students enjoying every moment of it.

We all hope you had a wonderful time at ISI Japanese Language School.
We look forward to seeing you all again in the near future!
