EVENT

Speech Contest was held at Ikebukuro Campus.

Hello everyone!
There was a speech contest at Ikebukuro Campus the other day!

Due to the coronavirus, we had not been able to have an event where all the students at the school could get together, but finally in December, we were able to have an event where all the classes, both morning and afternoon students, got together in the auditorium on the first floor. Not only those who are currently in Japan, but also those who are taking classes online, all joined together.

Greeting by Principal Okabe

Online students also participated

In the morning, one class representative was chosen from each of the seven advanced classes, and a total of seven students presented their speeches. In the afternoon, two class representatives were selected from three intermediate classes, and six students presented their speeches.

The speeches covered a great variety of topics, including “educational issues,” “animal cruelty,” “part-time work experience,” “making dreams come true,” “about disasters in Japan,” “Japanese language at sushi restaurants,” “wrapped trains in Japan,” “the importance of never giving up,” and “what is happiness?

listening really hard!

It was a great learning experience for both the students listening and the teacher, who learned many things for the first time.
The students who gave the speeches were able to present them in a dignified and easy to understand Japanese, and everyone listening listened to them! They must have practiced a lot! We could see the results of my practice very clearly.

The first place winner of the morning session and the first place winner of the afternoon session received a certificate, a cool plaque, and a nice present! Those who just missed out on first place also received a certificate and a nice gift!

Representatives from the morning class

The first place student of the morning session!  He was so happy!

Representatives from the afternoon class

The first place winner of the afternoon session was a student taking classes from his own country! So nice to be at an event together, even if we’re miles apart!

Through school events, not only can you improve your Japanese, but you can also get to know your classmates better, and often discover new things about Japan and the Japanese language!

At Ikebukuro Campus, we plan to hold many more events like this one, where you can join in the fun with students in Japan, even if you’re taking classes from overseas!
If you enroll at Ikebukuro Campus, please enjoy and participate in school events!
